Cydemind – Erosion – Canadian Instrumental Progressive Metal

Today’s Soundtrack: Cydemind – Erosion – Canadian Progressive Metal   The soundtrack of my four-mile run this morning was Erosion the latest release from the Canadian Progressive Metal band Cydemind. (You can read about the run here). The album has been in my music rotation for the few weeks and I have found it very interesting. There’s a certain sameness to the tracks, but that happens with instrumental albums. At least in my opinion. Anyway, here is some background information on Cydemind. About Cydemind The music of Cydemind draws on a lot of influences and their music combines Progressive Rock. jazz…

Blind Ego’s Liquid Powers a Good Walk

The Walk (not the run!) I know that I was supposed to run yesterday. But first we had to do some shopping before the Eagles game. Then after the end of that upsetting loss to the Giants I was in no mood to run. However, I didn’t want to totally avoid exercise so I decided to walk instead. Along with  just not being  not in the mood to run I also knew that it was late enough that it would be getting dark before I finished my run.  I hate  the switch back to standard time in the fall…

Marconi Union – Ghost Stations

Marconi Union – Ghost Stations Sometimes I am not sure that I like ambient music all that much. Many times I’ve heard an ambient track and said, “What the hell was that?” Little did I know that was the reaction that Marconi Union wants from listeners to their latest release Ghost Stations. Here’s what they have to say about the album….. “People who have bought our previous records may think we have gone to far in this direction or that direction or that we don’t do enough of some particular aspect anymore., but we’ve already done those things in our previous work…

The Prelude Implicit Kansas’ Latest Album Powers My First Run as a 65 year-old!

Another Attempt to Start Running Again with a Soundtrack from Kansas – The Prelude Implicit So I had babysitting duties today with my granddaughter Zoe. Missy had to go to work earlier than usual so I had to be there by 7:30. The good thing about that was Missy got home a little after 3, which meant that I would be home by 3:30 or so and that meant there would be time to run today. I haven’t run since I don’t know when, I just can’t seem to get motived to find the time. But Saturday I turned 65…

Danish Space Rock from Causa Sui

Causa Sui – Return to Sky – Psychedelic/Space Rock-Denmark So this morning I was looking for some music to start my day. I went to Spotify and then to Browse and My Discover selections. The second album among the ‘Top Recommendations for You’ was the album Return to Sky from  the band  Causa Sui. Having no idea about the band or the genre of music that they played, I gave them a try. What I heard was a pretty interesting instrumental band.!! About Causa Sui While I was listening I did a Google search for the band the first result…

A Walk/Jog to Restart Running – Music by Aisles

A Walk/Jog to Restart Running and Slow My Raging Biologic Clock….. So for the last six to eight months, particularly the last three months, I feel that my biological clock has been moving ahead a full speed. While I have been keeping up with my daily yoga and meditation, even including a couple of days a week with light weights. I have done little else right. I have run maybe five to six times this year and now that I haven’t been for my walks with Oliver, I have packed on several unwanted pounds!! My diet hasn’t been too bad, but there…

Run & Rock with Cargo from Royal Hunt!

Cargo - Royal Hunt

The Run   So after our trip to Moorestown on Sunday, I wasn’t sure if I was going to run or not. But I was able to get myself moving and I headed on out. I loaded up a little prog on the iPhone, Cargo the latest from the band Royal Hunt and I was off, but not for long. Over the last several weeks, the back of my left shoe has rubbed on my foot and I developed a blister which popped and now I am left with the residual irritation, I have put a band-aid over the spot…

Eternal Wanderers and a Late Afternoon Walk

Is there a better name for a Neo-Prog Group to Power a Walk than Eternal Wanderers? The Walk So yesterday I actually got off my butt again and went for a walk! This one was a 3.1 mile walk at pace of 15:20 /mile which means the walk lasted 47 minutes and 34 seconds! Not bad overall, so it looks like one more walk tomorrow and then maybe I’ll try to run on the weekend! The soundtrack for the run was a Neo-Prog band Eternal Wanderers. The Soundtrack  Eternal Wanderers – Neo-Prog – Russia Eternal Wanderers is a Neo-prog band…

Myrath – Legacy

Myrath – Legacy – Progressive Metal – Tunisia    So around eleven o’clock this morning I thought it was to stop pounding on the computer keyboard and get up and get something done around the house In doing so, I decided to put on some progressive rock. Yes, you read that correctly Tunisia. I first listened to the band back in…

Delusion Rain – Mystery

Mystery – Delusion Rain – Canada – Neo-Prog I haven’t visited the site – progstreaming.com lately, but I thought tonight would be a good night for some prog rock, so I took a trip to the site to check out the latest albums. When I search through prog albums by artists I don’t know (that’s most of them at progstreaming), the first albums that I give a listen to are the one’s whose albums covers look the most interesting. One of the album covers that caught my eye was from the band Mystery and their album Delusion Rain. Within the…
