Marconi Union – Ghost Stations

Marconi Union – Ghost Stations Sometimes I am not sure that I like ambient music all that much. Many times I’ve heard an ambient track and said, “What the hell was that?” Little did I know that was the reaction that Marconi Union wants from listeners to their latest release Ghost Stations. Here’s what they have to say about the album….. “People who have bought our previous records may think we have gone to far in this direction or that direction or that we don’t do enough of some particular aspect anymore., but we’ve already done those things in our previous work…

Soothing Sounds from Richard Carr – Matters of Balance

Matters of Balance – Richard Carr Last night as I looked down the Zone Music Reporter Top 100 Airplay Chart the album at number 7 caught my eye. The album was titled Matters of Balance and the artist was Richard Carr. The album cover looked pretty cool  and I had never heard of Richard Carr so I opened up Spotify to  check the album out. So I put the album on an picked up my book and started to read. Pretty soon I was doing more listening than reading!! I turned to the album again this afternoon and once…

The Prelude Implicit Kansas’ Latest Album Powers My First Run as a 65 year-old!

Another Attempt to Start Running Again with a Soundtrack from Kansas – The Prelude Implicit So I had babysitting duties today with my granddaughter Zoe. Missy had to go to work earlier than usual so I had to be there by 7:30. The good thing about that was Missy got home a little after 3, which meant that I would be home by 3:30 or so and that meant there would be time to run today. I haven’t run since I don’t know when, I just can’t seem to get motived to find the time. But Saturday I turned 65…

Danish Space Rock from Causa Sui

Causa Sui – Return to Sky – Psychedelic/Space Rock-Denmark So this morning I was looking for some music to start my day. I went to Spotify and then to Browse and My Discover selections. The second album among the ‘Top Recommendations for You’ was the album Return to Sky from  the band  Causa Sui. Having no idea about the band or the genre of music that they played, I gave them a try. What I heard was a pretty interesting instrumental band.!! About Causa Sui While I was listening I did a Google search for the band the first result…

A Walk/Jog to Restart Running – Music by Aisles

A Walk/Jog to Restart Running and Slow My Raging Biologic Clock….. So for the last six to eight months, particularly the last three months, I feel that my biological clock has been moving ahead a full speed. While I have been keeping up with my daily yoga and meditation, even including a couple of days a week with light weights. I have done little else right. I have run maybe five to six times this year and now that I haven’t been for my walks with Oliver, I have packed on several unwanted pounds!! My diet hasn’t been too bad, but there…

Distant Horseman – Timothy Wenzel

Distant Horseman – Timothy Wenzel – Life, Living  and the Universe So if you are looking for a nice, quiet relaxing album, I have one for you – Distant Horseman the latest release from New Age Artist Timothy Wenzel. The album was released back in February and it has been in my music rotation since then. I also think that it has also been at the top of the Zone Music Reporter Charts for all those months. The album features the musical artistry of Wenzel coupled with the beautiful violin of Josie Quick. One of the ways that I always put…

Marquis Hill – The Way We Play

The Way We Play – Marquis Hill puts his own spin on some jazz classics I first discovered the music of Marquis Hill back on 2013, around the time of the release of his album The Poet. At the time, I couldn’t find The Poet at any of my usual listening spots, so I listened to his album Sounds of the City . IK quickly became a fan! The sounds of the city emanated from Marquis’ home town of Chicago and the album was outstanding. After the release of  The Poet, Marquis won  the 2014 THELONIOUS MONK INTERNATIONAL JAZZ COMPETITION. The winner…

Run & Rock with Cargo from Royal Hunt!

Cargo - Royal Hunt

The Run   So after our trip to Moorestown on Sunday, I wasn’t sure if I was going to run or not. But I was able to get myself moving and I headed on out. I loaded up a little prog on the iPhone, Cargo the latest from the band Royal Hunt and I was off, but not for long. Over the last several weeks, the back of my left shoe has rubbed on my foot and I developed a blister which popped and now I am left with the residual irritation, I have put a band-aid over the spot…

Eternal Wanderers and a Late Afternoon Walk

Is there a better name for a Neo-Prog Group to Power a Walk than Eternal Wanderers? The Walk So yesterday I actually got off my butt again and went for a walk! This one was a 3.1 mile walk at pace of 15:20 /mile which means the walk lasted 47 minutes and 34 seconds! Not bad overall, so it looks like one more walk tomorrow and then maybe I’ll try to run on the weekend! The soundtrack for the run was a Neo-Prog band Eternal Wanderers. The Soundtrack  Eternal Wanderers – Neo-Prog – Russia Eternal Wanderers is a Neo-prog band…
