Mystery – Redemption – a Best of 2023

Mystery Redemption a best of 2023

So yesterday I decided to continue listening to new (2023) prog rock albums. I again visited the Prog Archives to review their best of 2023 album list. Rather than just work my way down the list I decided to filter the list and search for bands that are included in the Neo-Prog sub-genre. When I first started listening to current Prog I discovered that most of the albums I liked were Neo-Prog bands. A  brief review of the list revealed that many of the bands I like released new albums on 2023.  I didn’t need to look far down the…

Day 5- New Music – Experimental Rock Band – Road to Jerusalem

Road to Jerusalem – Road to Jerusalem Yesterday was  Day 5 of my New Musician Challenge and, while I did listen to some new music, I didn’t get a chance to write anything. The Road to Jerusalem was a little more hard rock than the bands that are usually in my music rotation. However, based on what I’ve heard from The Road to Jerusalem (RTJ) I may be checking out a few of those bands that are listed as Related Artists on their overview page!! The Band  Anyway, RTJ is an experimental rock band. The band is based in Copenhagen,…

Great Progressive Metal from Poland – Art of Illusion

Cold War of Solipsism – Art of Illusion – Progressive Metal – Poland   One of the Progressive Rock (Prog Rock) albums that I have been enjoying over the last several weeks is Cold War of Solipsism from Art of Illusion. One of the aspects I love about Prog Rock is that it is a world-wide genre. Prog Bands come from it seems almost every country in the world. And an example is Art of Illusion who hail from Poland that hotbed of Prog Poland ( no sarcasm intended). While the band formed in 2002, they didn’t release their first album…

A Walk/Jog with a New Fitness Tracker and A New Album from Day Six!

So last week I was searching on Amazon for fitness trackers. The main problem was that I wanted a tracker that had a heart rate monitor and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I discovered the Letscom Smart Bracelet. It does just about everything my Fitbit Charge HR does (except count floors) and does it for around $ 27.00. Needless to say I purchased it and have been using it over the last several days. It seems to be working fairly well the step counts are consistent with the counts that I got from using the Fitbit. Heart Rate…

Edward Discovers the Retro Rock of Sweden’s Siena Root!

Siena Roots Does Music the 60s and 70s Way and I Like It! Yesterday,I was doing some organizing in my room, so I turned on Spotify. When I did a song titled “The Piper Won’t let You Stay” was playing. The longer I listened the more I thought,”Hey, I like this”  And when I heard the organ solos, I knew I liked it! The song was from an album released in 2017 titled A Dream of Lasting Peace from a band named Siena Root. I quickly googled the band name and this is what I discovered: Siena Root is a Swedish…

Cydemind – Erosion – Canadian Instrumental Progressive Metal

Today’s Soundtrack: Cydemind – Erosion – Canadian Progressive Metal   The soundtrack of my four-mile run this morning was Erosion the latest release from the Canadian Progressive Metal band Cydemind. (You can read about the run here). The album has been in my music rotation for the few weeks and I have found it very interesting. There’s a certain sameness to the tracks, but that happens with instrumental albums. At least in my opinion. Anyway, here is some background information on Cydemind. About Cydemind The music of Cydemind draws on a lot of influences and their music combines Progressive Rock. jazz…

Blind Ego’s Liquid Powers a Good Walk

The Walk (not the run!) I know that I was supposed to run yesterday. But first we had to do some shopping before the Eagles game. Then after the end of that upsetting loss to the Giants I was in no mood to run. However, I didn’t want to totally avoid exercise so I decided to walk instead. Along with  just not being  not in the mood to run I also knew that it was late enough that it would be getting dark before I finished my run.  I hate  the switch back to standard time in the fall…

The Prelude Implicit Kansas’ Latest Album Powers My First Run as a 65 year-old!

Another Attempt to Start Running Again with a Soundtrack from Kansas – The Prelude Implicit So I had babysitting duties today with my granddaughter Zoe. Missy had to go to work earlier than usual so I had to be there by 7:30. The good thing about that was Missy got home a little after 3, which meant that I would be home by 3:30 or so and that meant there would be time to run today. I haven’t run since I don’t know when, I just can’t seem to get motived to find the time. But Saturday I turned 65…

Danish Space Rock from Causa Sui

Causa Sui – Return to Sky – Psychedelic/Space Rock-Denmark So this morning I was looking for some music to start my day. I went to Spotify and then to Browse and My Discover selections. The second album among the ‘Top Recommendations for You’ was the album Return to Sky from  the band  Causa Sui. Having no idea about the band or the genre of music that they played, I gave them a try. What I heard was a pretty interesting instrumental band.!! About Causa Sui While I was listening I did a Google search for the band the first result…

A Walk/Jog to Restart Running – Music by Aisles

A Walk/Jog to Restart Running and Slow My Raging Biologic Clock….. So for the last six to eight months, particularly the last three months, I feel that my biological clock has been moving ahead a full speed. While I have been keeping up with my daily yoga and meditation, even including a couple of days a week with light weights. I have done little else right. I have run maybe five to six times this year and now that I haven’t been for my walks with Oliver, I have packed on several unwanted pounds!! My diet hasn’t been too bad, but there…
